Pat, a native of Whitehall, Michigan together with her husband, Gale DeWind decided to make their winter home in the tiny and historic town of Salineno in 1984.
Amazed by the exotic birds in the area, Pat and Gale decided to put out a bird feeder. They, along with other residents of the area, continued feeding for twenty-two year and became recognized as the “Birder’s Colony” known for their sightings of unusual and rare birds…some unique to the Salineno area.
This is her story. A book to share the many events and tales of the time she spent at the “Birder’s Colony”…Salineno.
